VELUX-funded research project

The new three years research project Individual, kin and family in prehistoric Europe - what words can tell was initiated on 1 July 2013. The VELUX foundation funds the project.

The project is organisationally a part of the research project Roots of Europe and is led by Birgit Anette Rasmussen and employs three postdocs besides herself.

The research focuses on the individual's life cycle and roles in kin and family in Europe from around 3.500 f.Kr. and onwards. The project will uncover these subjects by combining classic linguistics and linguistic palaeontology.
