European archaeology
Kristiansen will contribute to the joint project with articles and book chapters on prehistoric Europe, including the archaeological section planned for a volume intended for the general public.
One of Østmo's research plans is an ambitious monograph on neolithic stone cists in Norway which will describe the cultural environment in the late neolithic period and attempt to establish the most likely period for the introduction of Indo-European culture in large parts of Norway.
Another plan of Østmo's is an archaeological-linguistic volume on the Norwegian coast as an arena of warfare, power and prestige in the period 200 BC - 900 AD.
Finally, MA Lene Melheim, University of Oslo, has announced a number of articles relating to prehistoric Europe.
